Over 30 years ago, Gene Leyzarovich arrived in Pittsburgh as a refugee from Moscow. Just two years later, while studying at the University of Pittsburgh and working night shifts at UPMC, he founded JetStor to create high-performance storage systems. Since then, Gene has led the company to great success, installing JetStor RAID systems for over 4,000 clients across the US, Canada, Asia, Europe, and Australia.
Under his leadership, JetStor has become a trusted partner for major companies like Sony, Microsoft, Starbucks, and CBS. The JetStor brand supports research at organizations like NASA, the Department of Energy, and the National Institutes of Health, and powers institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University, Duke University, and Stanford University. In the UK, over 55% of police forces use JetStor appliances.
Gene’s achievements include being a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 and winning Immigrant of the Year – Technological Innovation in 2017. He thrives on the challenge of competing with multi-billion dollar corporations and is dedicated to providing creative and innovative solutions for customers.
