JetStor Donates Equipment to Seton Hill
Helping prepare the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
PITTSBURGH, PA — September 9, 2026 — JetStor has donated equipment to Seton Hill University to support its cybersecurity and computer science programs. The gift includes two storage systems and five years of warranty and support.
One system will provide the main storage, while the other will serve as a backup. They will replace older equipment in the university’s cyber range, a lab where students practice skills such as responding to security incidents and recovering data.
For faculty, the older equipment had become a limit on the exercises they could run.
While our previous equipment provided basic storage capacity, it did not provide the speed necessary for the complex simulations we are integrating into our curriculum
said Dr. Matthew Kisow, Associate Professor of Cybersecurity.
The new systems will allow more students to participate in these exercises at the same time. The lab will support work in cyber defense, digital forensics, disaster recovery, business continuity, and networking, giving students experience with situations they may face in their careers.
Seton Hill President Mary Finger also noted that the donation saves university resources while supporting practical learning in the School of Business and Technology. The university’s announcement includes more on the equipment, installation plans, and what faculty expect the upgrade to make possible.

JetStor founder Gene Leyzarovich visited the campus on September 8 to announce the gift and speak with students in Dr. Kisow’s computer networks class. His guest lecture covered storage, networking, and the physical equipment that supports them, bringing examples from his work into the classroom.
Gene also spoke about the value of practical experience. He founded JetStor while studying at the University of Pittsburgh and working night shifts at UPMC, balancing his education and work as he started the company.
